The Golden Circle

Wanderlust – The Golden Circle, Iceland.

Like I said in my last travel post, Reykjavik was where I spent the majority of my time while I was in Iceland. . .But I did manage to leave the city to see the countryside when I went on The Golden Circle tour, which is one of the most popular tourist routes in southern Iceland. The total loop is approximately 300km. The three main stops on the tour is the national park “Þingvellir”, the waterfall “Gullfoss” which means “Golden Falls”, and the very active geothermal valley of Haukadalur, which contains two popular geysers named “Geysir” and “Strokkur”. Strokkur is one of the very few natural geysers that erupts frequently, typically every 4-8 minutes and about 15-20 meters high (although sometimes up to 40 meters).
