Once again Dylan & I are going to be sponsoring Pets in the Park doing pet portraits – please stop by our booth with your pet this Sunday (July 11th) at Kiwanis Memorial Park!! We are going to be there from 9-4pm, located behind the silent auction.

Our pet portraits are very inexpensive this year.. So you should drop by! =)

$10 – Web/Facebook resolution file emailed to you
$20 – full resolution & facebook file emailed to you
$30 – 8×12 print mailed to you
$60 – 16×24 canvas print

100% of proceeds are going to the Pets in the Park foundation – Saskatoon SPCA, SCAT Street Cat Rescue, and New Hope Dog Rescue. Last year we raised almost $500 and we’re hoping to beat that this year! http://www.petsinthepark.ca/

Back from Cuba!

So we just got back from the destination wedding in Varadero, Cuba this week – it was amazing! We are still catching up on all of our emails from when we were gone, and editing photo sessions from before we left, but we plan on blogging the wedding/TTD photos this week!

Pets in the Park

Dylan and I will be at Pets in the Park 9am-4pm on Sunday, July 12th taking pet portraits and candid photos for their website . . . Make sure to come stop by!

Pets in the Park is an annual event held in Kiwanis Memorial Park (across the street from the Sheraton) to raise money for pets through the Saskatoon SPCA, Street Cat Rescue (SCAT) and New Hope Dog Rescue.

We will have a table set up where you can get a mini portrait session of your pet! The prices are very reasonable and 100% of the proceeds are going to the Pets in the Park foundation!

For 20$ you will get a mini portrait session of your pet and two 5×7 photos mailed out to you, as well as 10% off your next booking with En Vogue Photography (excluding weddings). Reprints are $5, the full resolution files are $5 each and 16×24 canvas photos are $60- we will have a sample at our table. One of the pet portraits we photograph will be the “poster pet” for next year’s Pets in the Park poster!

Jeridee & Louis – Saskatoon Wedding

On June 13th, Whitney and I had an amazing time shooting Jeridee and Louis’ wedding. We had a perfect (but hot) day and everything went very smoothly due to Jeridee’s expert planning skills =). Louis did a great job getting around even though his leg was in a cast from an accident a few weeks earlier! They had a beautiful ceremony and reception on the deck of Louis’ pub at the U of S.

This is the second wedding video I’ve done. The footage was taken with a 5D Mark II with an assortment of lenses: 70-200 2.8, 45 2.8 TS-E, 20mm 2.8, and a 100mm 2.8 macro.

They both looked amazing as you can see below!

Little update – Business cards and large format printer

So I finally got around to taking couple pictures of our new business cards. We got them printed by print100.com — a company based in China. Overall the quality is great, and the service is very fast…They shipped from China in about two days! Oh yeah, they give you free shipping too. It worked out to about 40$ Canadian for 300 double sided cards with rounded corners which is a pretty good deal IMO. The only con is that the cards are fairly thin, they would be awesome if they were a little thicker! I would rate the company a 4/5 overall. Here some a couple pictures of the cards:

I originally planned on buying a large format printer in late August or September but now I’m buying an Epson Stylus Pro 9800 on July 5th! Whitney and I are both really excited that we’ll be able to do in house printing up to 44″ wide (mostly canvas and fine art papers). Local photographers/artists/interior designers: Please email me at Dylan@envoguephotography.ca if you’re interested in seeing what the discounted rates are. In addition to discounted rates for professionals, I’ll be offering unbranded (drop shipping) and studio sample discounts =).

On my way home from school today, I went to the mall to buy our hedgehog some food, so while I was there I decided to go to the post office and check to see if my canvas print had arrived… and it did! Here are some pics:

The size I ordered is a 20×30 and in my opinion, it’s the best size to get – It’s not too big, not too small. I can’t wait until I get to start printing these beauties!

This summer

With wedding season right around the corner, we are anxiously waiting! We have 24 weddings booked this year and we can’t wait to be a part of each and every one of them. We still have a few available spots in April/May and October/November/December, check out our calender to see if we are available for your special day. With that said, we are officially accepting bookings for 2010!

This summer we are also planning to try and have our fastest turnaround yet (1-2 weeks – the usual last year being 3-4 weeks), though this is not guaranteed but we will be trying our hardest to get your images back as soon as possible.

The more I think about this summer, the more excited I get! In addition to all the great weddings we’ll be at, I’ll be starting another company. It will be a fine art large format printing business. This means instead of outsourcing our photos to be printed on canvas, we will be doing it in-house. I still haven’t quite thought out when I will be starting it but it will be in September or October… But who knows it could be earlier!

Also, either tomorrow or Wednesday we receive our first ever canvas example!!! As soon as I receive it I’ll be taking some photos of it to show off on the blog. I can’t wait! It’s a photo from an engagement session from last year, that’s all I’m going to say so I don’t spoil the surprise.

On February 15th, Whitney and I went to Edmonton and stayed with Klyment Tan. While we were there we had a chance to participate in one of his commercial shoots for a Gola shoe distribution company called ShoeGuru. Whitney got to model some shoes and I took some video footage, helped set up and helped take down also.
